I've never seen one of these, let alone seen a FREE one.
If it wasn't so buttugly I'd be tempted to go try it out.
Free Couch
Everyday there is at least one free couch posted on craigslist in a city somewhere in the world. In fact, there seem to be several. Per-capita the U.S. must have 3 couches to every 1 person. Does the same couch keep getting recycled? Well, here's my favorite free couch of the day. I'll try to post what I like about it and why it trumps all other free couches.

The Velveteen Couch
"It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in the joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

Beggars can't be choosers... or sociable
Posted last night.
At first I thought it was one of these football couches with the coffee table in the middle, but no... this is a couch. If you're handy and can make a set of couch cushions... than this is the one for you.
I can't see how I could have any friends over to watch the game with this couch? Or how I can lay back and eat a bowl of popcorn.
Doesn't it make you wonder what might have happened to the other cushions?
Did they get torn up by the family pet? Was uncle bob a slob? Throwing out the blood stained evidence? Did someone die on this couch? How on earth do you lose 2 big leather cushions? Maybe they're lost in the sock basket.

Too many to choose from...
Today on the local Craigslist (Boston) section... there were no less than 6 free couches available in the Boston area, 2 of the postings had pictures attached. A word to people who post, it's much easier to get rid of stuff if they have a picture. No one wants to make an appointment to see a "Free couch", just the description conjures up some strange thoughts...
Like this posting sans-pic "Tan in Color. Worn condition, but clean. No smokers. Cushions showing signs of wear, especially some tears at the top of the couch - looks fine if you keep a blanket or throw on the top like many people do. It's not the most beautiful couch, but it's not bad, and hey - it's free! " ... makes me want to run right over and load it up on the back of my pickup.
Here is my pick for the day. I'm being a bit nostalgic about plaid. My father picked out a plaid living room set on his own once. It was hideous, but I grew to love it because it reminded me of him.
